Retired Roping Horse in his 20s needs new home. Free to good home!

I just received an email from an owner who took this horse in about 6 years ago. He used to be a roping horse but now can only be either a companion horse or he's ok to lead small children around on. His grain will need to be soaked and he will definantly need to be on senior feed..

If anyone is interested please email me

Melissa@CountryGirlHorseRescue.com

Please forward this.. lets try to find this guy a home. We will be taking him in because his owner said we were the last resort or he would be put down. Please help this guy find a home. FREE to good home. Adopters will be required to sign the usual paperwork as with any adoption. No auction/NoSlaughter!

2 AQHA mares and a foal to join us today!

Two AQHA mares and one of the mares has a foal/filly at her side, will also be coming. We do not think we will be rehoming these mares. They will be trained to ride in the spring and be a part of our PTSD, and Special Needs programs next spring/summer. Raider will be standing at stud next spring, stud fee  to be determind. He passes on the dun factor, he's a buckskin dun. The foal out of Punkin, sired by Raider, stable name Moon (registered name soon to come!) is a cremello dun/palamino dun. This is the first of a long line of foals to come. We will not breed Raider to unregistered mares. We plan to show/halter as yearlings. For more information, on volunteers who would like to partake in showing yearlings please contact Melissa V. at Melissa@CountryGirlHorseRescue.com

3 AQHA Mare and a Filly to be joining us Saturday!

3 Mares and a filly to join us Saturday at our facility. The mare with the foal at her side is almost a duplicate of Punkin and the filly is also almost a duplicate she's just not a dun.. But otherwise same color, same star.. Will be keeping these mares until spring. May keep permanently. Since the loss of Dreamer I'll just know which is for me. The owner is further handicapped and is doing the right thing. I'll be training them in the spring to ride they've been used as broodmares only. Next year our Stallion, Raider will be standing at stud. He's a 15HH and growing stout AQHA with Leo bloodlines. Proven to pass on the dun factor. Will NOT breed to unregistered mares. We keep Raider seperated from the unregistered mares and rescues to prevent breeding.

We need YOUR help!

Any and all help is greatly appreciated and desperately needed for this winters hay supply. We've found a supplier bringing hay in from Texas they're giving us a break from $8.00 per square bale to $5.00 per square bale.. Any and all donations no matter how big or small are greatly appreciated. Donate a bale or two. Unfortunately due to the lack of rain hay prices have driven up. Last year we were able to purchase 100 bales for 200$. With that not only did we have enough for the rescues we took in, but we were also able to make several deliveries to help owners going through hard times out. Also any used winter blankets would be greatly appreciated. I know it's a lot to ask but if anyone can help please do!! We are also looking for volunteers who are willing to donate some of their time to help rehabilite (TLC), groom, exercise, clean water troughs, any help is appreciated. If you're reading this then you have the same love for horses and all other equines that we do. If you can help in any way at all. Please call (417)718-9006 or email Melissa@CountryGirlHorseRescue.com .. We still offer free no commission at all help to owners needing to rehome their Horse(s), mule(s), ect. We advertise on several equine based  search engines with excellent results. Slaughter houses are open again in the USA, with 1 or 2 being opened or already open in Missouri, PLEASE do NOT consider auctions. Let us help advertise and spread the word. We also take in owner surrenders. All adopters are required to sign a NO AUCTION/ NO SLAUGHTER agreement. We are picky on who adopts from us. We require vet references, check out the facility/farm the potential adopted animal will be kept, and do checkups. We do everything that we can to ensure our record of successful adoptions stays that way and to keep the horses we adopt and help rehome stay safe with loving, lasting homes, and that they NEVER know the hell of an auction, slaughter house, or the trip to one.

Overdue Update!!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay in the MUCH overdue update here at the Country Girl Horse Rescue farm. We've been quite busy with rennovations to the old farm house, (which has turned out quite nicely doing a little bit at a time as budget allows). We have now turned our attention to the HUGE over haul on the barns which are also nearly complete. Replaced the rotted/broken/jagged wood. Add new steel top bars for the seperaters in one of the barns. Turned two stalls into one, one two stalls. Making them much more roomy, HEAVY cleaning, raking tons of manure and ? out of all the stalls ( none of our horses were ever stalled in them). All done by hand, blood, blusters and plenty of sweat. The end is in sight! Replacing some of the rotted plywood then adding a coat of paint, and dropping saw dust. All the metal feeders for the stalls are being repaired and will be lined with horse trailer type rubber matting for easy clean and more sanitary. We are looking for some help/quotes (reasonable) to help cut/rake the front pasture from all that's over grown. Which is about one acre. We are just outside of Belle, MO right off hwy 63. So if anyone has a tractor nearby that wouldn't mind using it to help mow down brush we would greatly appreciate it! We will be making improvements to the fence in the future, replacing all barbed wire with real horse fencing. Also a round pen to come. (we're buying 2 wooden round treated posts with each check, then we'll be buying the actualy wood to hammer to the posts to make the round pen.) I'll be setting up my jumps in the spring. Barrels and poles as well in the arena. Sooo that's what's been going on here at the farm. Please check out website for all horses/mules looking for new homes. Thanks for reading and godbless!!
